Description
Thirty milligrams of cannabidiol with 500 mg of curcumin and piperine in each of these CBD curcumin capsules. Three named ingredients with three separate figures, all on the label and all on the batch lab sheet. Curcumin is the pigment fraction of turmeric rather than turmeric root powder, which is a distinction worth a hundred fold in concentration and is usually the first thing a label in this category blurs.
What is in one of these cbd curcumin capsules
Each component stated in milligrams rather than rolled into a proprietary blend, with the source of each one named.
- CBD curcumin capsules: 30mg cannabidiol, 500mg curcumin, plus piperine
- Curcumin source: turmeric, as the extracted curcuminoid fraction
- Piperine source: black pepper extract, stated in milligrams on the label
- Verification: amounts confirmed on the third party sheet, filed by batch
- Format: fixed dose per capsule, not splittable
- Price: $58 a bottle, with the per milligram figure printed under it
Curcumin against turmeric, which is the label trap
Turmeric root is roughly 2 to 5 percent curcuminoids by weight, so 500 mg of turmeric powder is something like 10 to 25 mg of the compound people are actually buying. Five hundred milligrams of curcumin is the extracted fraction, which is a different product at a different price. CBD curcumin capsules that state curcumin rather than turmeric are making the stronger claim, and the batch sheet is what turns that claim into a number. What a blend total is legally allowed to leave out is set out in this note.
Why piperine is in cbd curcumin capsules at all
Because curcumin is poorly absorbed, which is the best documented thing about it. Published pharmacokinetic work has reported that piperine from black pepper slows the metabolism of curcumin and raises measured blood levels substantially, with one frequently cited human study using 20 mg of piperine alongside 2 g of curcumin. That is a description of what a published study measured at a stated dose, not a claim about these capsules. Piperine also interacts with the same liver enzyme pathways as a long list of medicines, which is a reason to read the label rather than a selling point.
What this combination is, and what it is not
It is three ingredients in one shell, which saves taking three things. It is not a formulation anyone has tested as a whole: there is no published trial of cannabidiol with curcumin and piperine together at these amounts, and nothing on this page suggests there is. Each component has its own separate literature, and combining them in a capsule does not combine their evidence. The rest of the capsule range handles multi ingredient products the same way, by printing every figure and describing each component on its own.
Testing
Every lot of CBD curcumin capsules is assayed by a laboratory with no ownership tie to this company for cannabinoid content, pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents and microbials, and the curcumin and piperine amounts are verified against the label by identity and assay testing. Heavy metals deserve attention on turmeric specifically, since adulteration of turmeric with lead chromate for colour is a documented problem in some supply chains, and the certificate carries that panel. Lots failing are withdrawn and the sheet stays published.
What the published work on curcumin measured
Doses far above 500 mg, usually. Human trials have commonly used 500 mg to 2,000 mg of curcuminoids a day over weeks, frequently with piperine or in a formulated delivery system because plain curcumin absorbs so poorly. Cannabidiol has its own record, anchored by a prescription oral solution at 10 to 20 mg per kilogram per day. Those are descriptions of what published studies administered rather than claims about this bottle, and the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health keeps plain summaries at nccih.nih.gov.
Keep the bottle of CBD curcumin capsules closed and dry. Curcumin stains, so a split capsule will mark a worktop. The certificate for the current lot is linked here.
