What actually separates a women's multivitamin from a general one is usually the iron and folate content, and both repay close reading. Iron is printed here as elemental milligrams, because 325 mg of ferrous sulfate is 65 mg of iron, and bisglycinate is quoted at its own elemental fraction. Formulas without iron are labeled iron-free on the front rather than leaving you to scan the whole panel.
Folate form is the other divide. Folic acid is the synthetic version. L-methylfolate, sometimes sold as 5-MTHF, is the methylated one. Both are measured in micrograms DFE, which converts between them at different rates, so micrograms DFE and the raw milligram weight sit side by side on the label.
Calcium is quoted as elemental with the form named, carbonate at 40 percent and citrate at 21. Vitamin D3 appears in both IU and micrograms. K2 is listed as MK-4 or MK-7 with its amount in micrograms.
Prenatal-style blends are grouped separately and carry no description beyond composition. Anyone pregnant or planning to be should take a formula choice to their own clinician rather than to a product page.
Every lot is assayed by a laboratory outside this business, and the failing certificates stay published alongside the passing ones.
