Two label details separate a real extract from an expensive bag of grain. The first is the part of the organism used. Fruiting body is the mushroom itself. Mycelium on grain is the root structure grown out on rice or oats and sold with the substrate still in it, which inflates the weight and dilutes the active fraction. Every listing states which one you are buying.

The second is the extract ratio. A 10:1 extract means ten kilos of raw material went into one kilo of powder, so 500 mg of 10:1 is not comparable to 500 mg of whole powder. Hot water extraction pulls the beta-glucans. Alcohol extraction pulls the triterpenes. Dual extraction does both, and the method is named on the page.

Beta-glucan content is the number worth reading, usually quoted as a percentage of the extract. Polysaccharide percentage is a weaker figure because it counts starch from the substrate, and products publishing only that are flagged.

Every lot is tested by an outside laboratory for identity, heavy metals and microbials, with the results published. These are food-grade extracts sold by weight and described by composition. Nothing on this page is a controlled substance, and none of it contains psilocybin.
