Description
Electrolyte powder in citrus, with sodium, potassium and magnesium each stated in milligrams, no sugar and no colouring. Three minerals and a flavour is the whole formula. An electrolyte powder is a simple product that is frequently sold as a complicated one, so the useful thing a page can do is print the three numbers and explain what each is for.
Label figures
| Sodium | stated in milligrams per stick, the figure that matters most |
|---|---|
| Potassium | stated in milligrams, elemental |
| Magnesium | stated as elemental milligrams with the form named |
| Sugar | none, and no colouring either |
| Format | single serve sticks, so nothing is measured by eye |
| Not | an oral rehydration solution, for the reason set out below |
| Testing | all three minerals assayed every lot |
Sodium is the number to read on an electrolyte powder
Sweat is mostly water and sodium. Measured sweat sodium concentrations vary widely between people, roughly from 200 to 2,000 milligrams per litre, while potassium sits around a tenth of that and magnesium is present in trace amounts. So a product carrying 50 milligrams of sodium and a long list of trace minerals has the proportions backwards.
This is why the sodium figure leads the panel here. If a tub hides its minerals inside a blend total, you cannot check that proportion at all, which is the problem described in what a blend is legally allowed to leave out.
No sugar, and what that costs you
Here is the unflattering part. The oral rehydration solutions used clinically contain glucose on purpose, because sodium and glucose are absorbed together through a shared transporter and the measured rehydration literature is built on that pairing. A sugar free electrolyte powder gives up that mechanism.
For most people drinking a stick with a meal or during ordinary exercise, that trade is unimportant and the absence of sugar is the reason they bought it. For genuine rehydration after illness, a formulation with glucose is what the published protocols used. We would rather say so than let the label imply otherwise.
Magnesium form, named rather than implied
Magnesium oxide is around 60 percent elemental by mass and poorly soluble. Citrate and malate dissolve readily and carry a lower elemental percentage. A drink powder has to use a soluble form or it ends up as grit at the bottom of the glass, and the panel names which one is in the stick.
Sticks against a tub of electrolyte powder
A single serve stick costs more per gram than a tub of the same formula, because the packaging is most of the manufacturing cost. What the difference buys is a fixed dose and something that fits in a pocket, which matters if the alternative is guessing with a teaspoon at the side of a road. At home a tub is the cheaper answer and the figures on the panel are identical.
Format changes nothing about the mineral content of an electrolyte powder. This is a convenience decision rather than a potency one, and it is the same trade as capsules against bulk powder everywhere else on this shelf. Price per serving is printed either way so the comparison takes no effort.
What the research measured
Studies in this area have administered sodium at 300 to 1,500 milligrams per litre of fluid across exercise and heat protocols, measuring plasma sodium, body mass change, urine output and fluid retention over a few hours. Those are the doses and endpoints in the literature rather than statements about this box. The intake references for potassium are on the NIH potassium fact sheet.
Testing
Every lot of electrolyte powder is assayed for all three minerals by an outside laboratory, with heavy metals screened as well, since mineral salts are mined material. A stick that is light on sodium is withdrawn and the failing report stays on the public page.
Where it sits
The rest of this shelf, including the single mineral powders and the stimulant products with their caffeine printed in bold, is on the performance page. Your lot certificate is linked above and archived with the others on lab results. An electrolyte powder with no sugar in it tastes sharper than the sports drinks most people are used to.

Works well. I would prefer it unflavoured but that is a personal thing.
Owen D. (verified owner) –
Happy with it. Took about two weeks before I noticed anything.
Lena K. (verified owner) –
Third time reordering. Consistent batch to batch, which is the whole point.
Priya S. (verified owner) –
The price per milligram made the comparison obvious. Switched from a pricier brand.

Fine, but I did not notice much difference at this dose.
