Scoop weight and the grams you actually get are different numbers, and the gap between them is where the money hides. A 30 gram scoop yielding 24 grams is 80 percent by mass, which is a concentrate. A 32 gram scoop yielding 28 grams is 87 percent, an isolate. Both figures are published here along with the percentage they imply, and the price is quoted per gram rather than per tub, so a cheap 2 lb tub cannot disguise a thin scoop.
Isolate is filtered further than concentrate, runs above 90 percent on a dry basis, and carries less lactose and fat. Concentrate sits nearer 70 to 80 percent and costs less per serving. Casein is the other milk fraction, thicker in water. Plant blends pair pea with rice to round out the amino profile, and the methionine and lysine figures are on the page.
Amino spiking is the old trick in this aisle: free glycine, taurine or creatine added so a nitrogen test reads high while the complete amino content stays low. Our certificates carry a full amino acid breakdown rather than total nitrogen alone, which is what makes spiking visible.
Every lot goes to a laboratory outside this business for protein content, heavy metals and microbial screening. Lots assaying below their stated grams are withdrawn, and the certificate stays published.
