Description
Twenty chamomile sachets at ten milligrams a bag, caffeine free. A chamomile CBD tea is the simplest thing on the drinks shelf and the hardest to reason about in milligrams, for a reason set out below. Each sachet carries a stated figure rather than only the box total, the batch lab sheet is linked, and paying in Bitcoin takes 3 percent off the order.
What is in a box of chamomile cbd tea
Per bag, per box and the sachet count, printed in that order, plus what the leaf actually is.
- Chamomile CBD tea: 10mg of cannabidiol per bag
- Count: 20 sachets. Box total: 200 mg
- Herb: chamomile flower, caffeine free
- Caffeine: none, unlike the yerba mate blend on the same shelf
- Testing: every production run, with the sheet linked on this page
- Price: $24 a box, with the price per milligram printed under it
The honest problem with an infusion
Cannabidiol is not water soluble. A sachet sitting in hot water will transfer the aromatic fraction readily and the cannabinoid fraction poorly, so the 10mg printed on a bag is what went onto the leaf rather than a measurement of what ends up in the cup. Adding milk or any fat gives it something to dissolve into and changes that. Nobody selling a chamomile CBD tea can give you an honest extraction figure for your own kettle and steep time, so we print what is on the leaf and say this much plainly. The drinks range states container total, serving total and serving count on every listing.
Chamomile, described rather than sold
Chamomile is a flower used as an infusion for a very long time, with a thin controlled literature behind it: small human studies, varying preparations, inconsistent findings. It is in the box because it is the herb people reach for in the evening, which is a statement about habit rather than about effect. Chamomile is in the daisy family, which matters for anyone with a ragweed or daisy sensitivity, and plain summaries of what has been studied in botanicals are kept at the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health.
Caffeine free chamomile cbd tea, and what that rules in
It means the box can be drunk late without the obvious confound. The yerba mate and spearmint blend on the same shelf carries caffeine from the mate, somewhere in the region of 30 to 80 mg a cup, and that is the compound doing the most noticeable work in a mug of it. A chamomile CBD tea has none, so what you are drinking is chamomile, hot water and whatever cannabidiol made the journey off the leaf.
Testing every run of chamomile cbd tea
Every production run is assayed by an independent laboratory for cannabinoid content, pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents and microbials. On a sachet product the figure worth reading is the per bag assay rather than a box average, since infused leaf can vary within a run, and the sheet reports it that way. Runs coming in under their printed milligrams are withdrawn and the failing certificate stays published next to the passing ones, which is explained in why we publish the batch that failed.
What the published work used
Measured oral doses, not infusions. Clinical work on cannabidiol sits well above 10mg and uses capsules, oils or solutions rather than tea: the approved prescription oral solution was trialled at 10 to 20 mg per kilogram of body weight per day, and single dose human studies used 300 to 600 mg. None of that literature involves an uncertain extraction from leaf into water. Those sentences describe the published record and its doses rather than making a claim about this box.
Keep the box dry and sealed. The certificate for the run currently shipping is linked here and filed by lot number.
