Description

Four CBD bath bombs in one box, 100 mg of cannabidiol isolate pressed into each, one each of lavender, eucalyptus, citrus and unscented. That is 400 mg across the set. The unscented one is in there because a fragrance free bath is a reasonable thing to want and most multipacks do not offer it.

What is pressed into each one

Sodium bicarbonate and citric acid do the fizzing. The rest is a butter phase, a salt, the isolate and either an essential oil or nothing at all. No mica and no glitter in any of the four, which some people care about and some people care about a great deal.

  • CBD bath bombs: 100 mg of isolate each. Set total: 400 mg
  • Count: 4 bombs, one each of lavender, eucalyptus, citrus, unscented
  • Fizz: sodium bicarbonate and citric acid. Butter phase: cocoa butter
  • Scents: essential oils, named individually on the box. One unit carries none
  • Mica and glitter: none
  • Price: $30 a box, with the price per milligram printed underneath

What 100 mg means in CBD bath bombs once the water is in

Not very much, and we would rather say so. A hundred milligrams in a balm sits on two ounces of wax and goes onto one knee. The same hundred milligrams here disperses through something like forty gallons of water, with most of the cannabinoid floating rather than dissolving, because cannabidiol is not water soluble. The per milligram price is still printed, because you should know what you paid either way, but the number on the box does not imply more than it is. The bath and body range lists net weight in grams alongside milligrams for the same reason.

How CBD bath bombs are tested

Each production run is assayed by a laboratory with no ownership tie to this company: cannabinoid content per unit, heavy metals and microbial screening on the same sheet. Anything coming in under its printed milligrams is withdrawn and the report stays published next to the ones that passed. Because CBD bath bombs are pressed rather than poured, unit to unit variation is the figure worth reading, so the certificate states the assay per bomb instead of a batch average. On the metals panel the units matter more than the numbers do, which is the whole point of heavy metals in hemp.

Is there any literature on cannabidiol in a bath

Essentially none. The published topical work on cannabidiol is mostly in vitro or in animal models, with a small number of human studies on creams and gels at stated milligram per gram concentrations applied directly to skin. Immersion in dilute water is not a scenario anyone has run a controlled trial on, and no transdermal figure from a gel study transfers to it. That is a plain description of where the evidence stops, not a claim in either direction. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health keeps a readable summary of what has and has not been studied at nccih.nih.gov.

Four scents, and why they are in one box

Buying a six pack of a scent you turn out to dislike is a waste of thirty dollars, so this set is one of each. Lavender and eucalyptus are the two that sell, citrus is the one people are surprised by, and the unscented unit is there for anyone who shares a bathroom. Single CBD bath bombs are stocked separately in lavender and eucalyptus at 100 mg and 200 mg, so once you know which one you want the refill is cheaper per unit than the sampler.

Using them

External use, which is what the box says. CBD bath bombs are not food. Cocoa butter and colourant can mark a porous tub or leave a film, so rinse it down afterwards, and the lavender unit will scent a small bathroom for a while. One bomb is one bath; they do not halve usefully, because the fizz starts the moment the halves get damp.
