Description

Methandienone tablets at 5 mg per tablet, bottles of 100, 500 mg in total. The compound is also named metandienone, and its original United States registration was withdrawn in 1983 with nothing approved since. It remains Schedule III as an anabolic steroid. Research use only, not for human consumption, adults 21 and over, with purchase restrictions by state.

Container and content

Compound Methandienone, also metandienone

Total content 500 mg
Molecular mass 300.4 approximately
US registration Withdrawn in 1983
Controlled substance status Schedule III
Current US marketing None
Sold as Methandienone tablets, research use only

Five milligrams per unit, half the content of the other methandienone listing here, which changes the milligram total and the per-milligram price and nothing else about methandienone tablets.

We file methandienone tablets under the oral shelf. The parent shelf is anabolics.

Methandienone tablets: structure and nomenclature

17-alpha-methyl-androsta-1,4-dien-17-beta-ol-3-one, molecular mass near 300.4. The 1,2 double bond added to the standard 4-ene-3-one arrangement and the 17-alpha-methyl substitution are the two structural changes from testosterone.

The two names cause real confusion in the literature, including on certificates of analysis. Methandienone and metandienone are the same substance, the second being the international nonproprietary name, and a certificate using either is describing methandienone tablets.

Five hundred milligrams per bottle

100 tablets at 5 mg is 500 mg. At $85 that is $0.17 per milligram. The 10 mg laboratory presentation on this site holds twice the total for less money and divides to $0.059, so the gap between pharmaceutical and laboratory grade is nearly threefold per milligram here.

We print both figures and leave the comparison alone. Why price per milligram beats the price on the bottle covers why that comparison is the useful one.

Withdrawn in 1983, still controlled

The United States approval was withdrawn in 1983, so there has been no approved or marketed methandienone product in this country for more than forty years. The compound is still in Schedule III, which is the point worth holding onto: absence of an approval and absence of control are different things, and only the first applies to methandienone tablets. See the DEA’s schedules and the FDA’s approval databases.

The assay, and the lots that fail it

Every lot of methandienone tablets is assayed before it is listed. HPLC returns purity as a percentage of total peak area, mass spectrometry confirms identity against the expected mass, and residual solvents are reported in parts per million. A lot assaying below its stated milligram content is withdrawn from sale, and its certificate stays on the results page with the rest of them, because a results page carrying nothing but passes tells you nothing about the ones that did not pass. The figure published is the figure the assay returned, not a rounded version of it.

Why we publish the batch that failed is the longer version of that argument, and our certificate guide covers the fields.

Packaging notes

We ship methandienone tablets in the original sealed container with the lot number legible. We do not decant, relabel or combine lots, because a reference material whose lot cannot be named is no longer a reference material. The listing for this item states the storage conditions and the stability window we are willing to stand behind. Nothing is supplied in unmarked packaging, and we will not omit the compound name from a label or a customs declaration.

Declined on request

No quantities, no protocols, no sequencing, no potency rankings, no physiological description of this compound. If you ask us by email, the answer is the same as the answer on the page, which is that we do not supply it.

Keeping this listing to specifications is what makes the specifications worth anything. Research use only is not a legal strategy, and the FDA has said so in writing explains how the agency reads pages that go further, and the FDA’s drug information section holds the source documents.

We sell this item as a laboratory reference material, for research use only and not for human consumption. Adults 21 and over, with purchase restrictions by state: the product page lists the exclusions and the cart applies them. This is not a drug, a dietary supplement or a food, and it is not approved for administration to a person or an animal. Every lot certificate is published on the lab results page.

US regulatory status. No methandienone product is approved or marketed for human use in the United States.
