Description
Ninety nine percent plus pure cannabidiol as a fine white powder, in two sizes: 1g and 10g. One gram of CBD isolate powder is about 990 mg of cannabidiol, so the ten gram jar is roughly 9,900 mg. It is bought to make things with at whatever strength you decide, rather than portioned into anything, and the batch certificate is linked on this page.
The two sizes of cbd isolate powder
An assay percentage, a weight and the conversion between them. The certificate does that conversion per lot rather than leaving the label to promise it.
- CBD isolate powder: 99 percent plus, so about 990 mg of cannabidiol per gram
- Sizes: 1g and 10g options
- Form: fine white crystalline powder, no taste and no colour
- Delta-9: non detect on the certificate, with the detection limit stated
- Sold as: bulk material by weight, not portioned into servings
- Price: from $29, with the price per milligram printed under each option
Making your own, and the arithmetic it needs
This is the appeal and it is worth being precise about. One gram of CBD isolate powder in 30 mL of MCT gives you a 990 mg tincture at 33 mg per millilitre. Ten grams in 100 mL gives 99 mg per millilitre, which is near the saturation point at room temperature. It dissolves into oils, butters and alcohol and not into water at all, which decides what it can be made into and rules out anything aqueous without an emulsifier. The concentrate range prints purity and the milligram conversion on every listing for exactly this reason.
Weighing cbd isolate powder, which is where people go wrong
Use a scale that reads to a hundredth of a gram, and for the 1g jar a milligram scale is better. Volume measures are unreliable with a powder this fine: the difference between a level and a heaped spoon is larger than most of the amounts anyone is working to. Isolate also dissolves faster into warm oil than cold, and a batch that looks grainy after mixing has not finished dissolving rather than being short measure. Nothing on this page suggests a quantity to take, because material sold by weight is not a serving.
What 99 percent purity takes out
Everything else from the plant. Full spectrum extract keeps the minor cannabinoids and terpenes and carries a trace delta-9 figure within the 0.3 percent federal limit, which is a ratio by dry weight rather than a milligram cap. Broad spectrum keeps the minors and removes the delta-9. CBD isolate powder is crystallised to a single molecule, so there is no measurable delta-9, no plant taste and no colour. The 0.3 percent figure comes from the hemp production rules published by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service.
Testing
Every lot of CBD isolate powder is assayed by an independent laboratory: the cannabinoid profile with the assay percentage stated, residual solvents in parts per million next to the action limits, heavy metals, pesticides and microbials. Solvent figures matter more on an isolate than on most formats, because crystallisation uses solvent and those numbers are the proof it was removed. Lots under their stated purity are withdrawn from sale and the failing certificate stays published, which is explained in why we publish the batch that failed.
What the published literature used
Measured oral doses rather than powder on a scale. The approved prescription cannabidiol oral solution, itself a purified preparation, was trialled at 10 to 20 mg per kilogram of body weight per day, which is 700 to 1,400 mg daily for a 70 kg adult. Single dose human stress model studies used 300 to 600 mg. Those figures describe published research and the doses used in it rather than a recommendation for anything you make with this.
Keep it sealed, cool and dry. The certificate for your option is linked here and filed by its batch code.
